Located right in Whitehall, community run, only 5 rooms, nice double bed room updated toilet great, shower, closets, table chairs, tv, tea kettle, windows view to the chapel and ferry dock, only place for dinner from what I can tell. Bar only open Thursday- Sunday. Cafe and hostel across the street nice for breakfast or quick bite at lunch. 1 store on island there as well as a cultural center.
Frequented the Tearoom at Stronsay Hotel. Tara the owner of the Tearoom is welcoming, gives informative info on places to visit, and makes her own D-LICIOUS cakes. Definitely worth a visit.
Lovely hotel and cute pub. A wonderful place to meet friends and neighbors.
Had a wonderful one-night stay! Nicole was a great host and I enjoyed the meal I had booked in advance. Especially enjoyed visiting the pub, meeting locals who were welcoming and proud to be community owners of the establishment. Comfortable room with good amenities, and obviously very accessible from the ferry. I look forward to visiting again!
I have wanted to return to Stronsay for many years. This time we stayed at the Stronsay Hotel, which is under new management. We were not disappointed! A wonderfully comfortable room in an excellent location, close to the ferry terminal, and to local facilities. The family who run the hotel are perfect for the location: she is a warm and welcoming hostess, while he is an excellent chef. They both bent over backwards to make us feel at home and to ensure we had a great time enjoying the wonders of Stronsay. We honestly did not want to leave. THANK YOU.
